First Chairman for Revolut to be Appointed

Revolut, a London-England established banking institution, is rumoured to be appointing Martin Gilbert as the first and new chairmen for the bank. Martin was the Chief Executive Officer for Standard Life Aberdeen, a Senior Director for Glencore and an Advisor for Tenor Holdings before taking on this role.

He has more expensive than most in the industry, showcasing his ability to bridge traditional and modern finances into one. Hiring Martin Gilbert marks the first time that Revolut is trying to strengthen their ‘firm’s client spreadsheet and profitability.

Martin Gilbert Joining Revolut Shortly

There are two sources close to Revolut that has indicated this rumour to be true. The sources, who haven’t been named publicly, noted that he would be starting with the company in the few weeks. Gilbert has been active in the finance space for more than forty years, beginning back in the ’80s. Most recently, he served as the Chairman for Standard Life and Aberdeen Standard Investments.

Gilbert is the founder of Aberdeen Asset Management & all other subsidiary institutions. He co-founded the company back in 1983 with the help of multiple investors. The company has now merged with Standard Life, which was an idea proposed by Gilbert himself. All significant mergers that have come for Aberdeen Standard Investments were the result of Gilbert’s advanced insight into the future of markets.

Following the completion of the merger, he will now be taking on a new role with Revolut. This marks the first time that Gilbert has entirely left his company, showing that he trusts Standard Life with his finance baby. However, there have also been rumours that ‘he’s stepping down due to the pressure of the firm losing significant funds dramatically fast. This is the result of Gilbert taking on too many positions in the past, which ultimately led to his company merging with Standard Life. He will still be a Vice-Chairman but will play a significantly smaller role with Aberdeen.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any information released by Revolut to indicate what Martin Gilbert will be doing for the company. Stay tuned to find out what Gilbert’s role with the company will mean for financial markets.
