Omri Ross becomes Chief Blockchain Scientist at eToroX
EToroX, eToro’s cryptocurrency arm of social trading network, has recently restructured their executive personnel. The latest restructuring will see Omri Ross moving into the role of its Chief Blockchain Scientist.
Omri Ross’s arrival at eToroX comes after the news that Ross’s Firmo Network had been acquired by eToro. Omri is the founder of Firmo and the prior CEO of Firmo, a startup that had a focus on providing derivatives and blockchain technologies financial contracts.

Ross will now start his new role in eToroX’s Copenhagen established office. His new job will have him focus his efforts on developing solutions for blockchain technologies that will help support eToroX’s capabilities in a grand perspective.
Mr. Omri Ross is a mathematical genius who studied Mathematical finance at the University of Cambridge, where he then received his PhD. He assisted the University of Copenhagen with establishing the 1st blockchain technology academic course, where he remains today as an assistant professor at the university.
Firmo team tasked with tokenising assets on the eToro platform
Mr. Ross’s portfolio as an individual is extensive. It includes consultant services for various blockchain companies such as Colu and Bancor, as well as large corporations, banks and governments on issues relevant to crypto technologies as stated on his LinkedIn profile.
Ross will now have to use his knowledge he gained at Firmo to help eToroX bring domain-specific financial contracts to the blockchain company. This will translate to a smart derivative contracts for major blockchain platforms.
eToro, in its statement announcing its acquisition of Firmo, stated it will take the role of an internal innovation unit and focus its energies towards tokenising assets on the platform. This will include the creation of blockchain–based infrastructure and research for the execution of trade processes and relevant asset representation.
EToroX was created only last year and have been given the mission of defining/executing the vision of eToro. They help with the development of cryptoassets, crypto exchange and crypto wallets. Last year, the innovating company released its proprietary cryptocurrency wallet. They’ve also recently secured a regulator license from Gibraltar.
