Blockchain Smartphones Coming

South Korean Electronics Conglomerate Samsung and Taiwanese Manufacturer HTC have both announced that they’ll be creating a blockchain-enabled smartphone. However, it was recently revealed that LG would be joining the rate race to the first blockchain smartphone against it’s leading competitors. This information comes from an internal source with the company who spoke with South Korean News Outlets privately. This individual noted that LG has begun creating the new phone, with their research being complete months ago. However, this internal source didn’t specify when the phone will be released to worldwide consumers.

This source also provided numerous details relating to the future of LG’s blockchain services. Those details include that the phone will support worldwide markets and local markets, with several blockchain applications rumoured to be released in correlation with this mobile device. Considering that Samsung has already released its Blockchain App Store, these applications would drastically help LG compete against their biggest rival. The race has now seriously begun, and LG is in the lead with trademarked applications in the United States of America. Those trademarks extend to South Korea and will enable LG to move forward with their blockchain project.

An official representative with LG Electronics talked to media after this leak by stating: “LG is likely to respond to Samsung’s innovation initiative. LG has been struggling to apply blockchain to smartphones without any dissimilarity. I think Samsung is trying to prepare differently in the blockchain field just as LG responded with a dual-screen when Samsung Galaxy came out with a foldable phone.”

Samsung Failing

Samsung has tried but continually failed to provide decentralized products to retail clients and investors on a worldwide scale. The electronics manufacturer has partnered with leaders in the industry only to be let down. Luckily, a new company by the names of Ground X claims they’ll be able to solve all issues relating to blockchain on Samsung devices. However, with the news that LG is moving forward quickly with its blockchain services, Samsung might lose this race. Subsequently, LG would receive a whole new basis of clientele that Samsung so desperately desires.
